Patrick Guiraud

It is in the heart of the Domaine de la Fourmi that we take you to discover one of our winemakers: Patrick Guiraud. Son of a winemaker, this wine and vineyard enthusiast studied oenology before taking over the family estate in 1989.

Two years after taking over the family estate, in 1991, I decided to acquire the Domaine de la Fourmi, in the heart of the Natural Park of Camargue. An area of 42 hectares, cultivated in PGI Sand of Camargue.

This privileged working environment, closest to nature, encourages me to switch to organic farming in 1995. For me, the job of winemaker is to develop a wine that brings satisfaction and pleasure, while respecting the environment and preserving the Nature that surrounds us. That is why I constantly strive to bring our beautiful territory of the Camargue into harmony with the economic activity of the vineyard.

When I am asked to describe the wine of the Embruns, I answer that it is a wine of character with a strong authenticity.”
